A Woman for All Seasons

A Woman for All Seasons

Luxury handbag brand Longchamp was founded in 1948 in Paris by Jean Cassegrain. The company started making leather bags during the 1970s and soon became a synonym for luxury. The brand’s iconic (and relatively inexpensive) product is Le Pliage – the canvas bag with the leather handles , that folds into a flat and compact bundle.

Yes, just like that bag your Mother in Law got you in town… Well, that was probably a copy.

The brand went through a revolution and many designers who’ve provided it with inspiration and different points of view – a richness that was reflected in the textures, colors, materials and overall style of the collections. The common thread, though, always remained an understated everyday luxury.

And why are we discussing them here? That’s easy – because whatever you need to know about hairstyle trends, you can learn from Longchamp campaigns.

The model – the stunning model, actually – goes through a process of changes to her hairstyle and haircut through the seasons, and leads us – the followers – in a journey towards beautiful hair, which is also always the “right” hair for every season.

Now, as we’re transitioning yet again to spring, it’s a great time to look back at some of the styles she sported through the last years:

Spring 2014- long hair, full-bodied bangs and naturally wavy hair, with some “sticky” touches reminiscent of beach hair.

Fall 2014- The long hair stays, the bangs have grown and are brushed to the sides, with a center part that’s almost invisible, but yet very present. You can notice some evidence to the wavy, beachy summer hair still.

Spring 2015- the hair is still pretty long, but now sleek and straight, and the full bodied bangs are back!

Autumn 2015- dramatically shorter hair. The bags have been replaced by the new star: the forehead. The hair is not straight anymore, tending towards creased.

Spring 2016- Spring clean look (for Passover, obviously)! Jawline-length short bob with a naturally messy part, no bangs for miles and most importantly – gorgeous beach waves, exactly like we like it. How chic!
